HI All

Kirsty and i are working on some higher fashion looks as we alwasy seem to go down the commercial, girl next door look.

So here i have tried hard lighting, lots of shadow, very very soft skin and dark features.

Kirst is looking to submit some as fashion shots so the angry look is for the pic. She isnt really angry. ......... Well i dont think she is..

Being high fashion we have gone for weird poses, well these arent that weird but we do have some weird ones and weird angles.

Below i have some fro our test shoot with some very rough post procesing just to get an idea on our final look. Unfortuanltey the jpeg compression has made the images look even rougher again.....

Your feedback would be appreciated as for this type of shot i am really out of my comfort zone here and umm i kinda have 2 weeks to get this nailed and deliver something half decent. thanks in advance.

FYI i am still using 2 desk lamps, 2 silver lined, black filled umbrellas and the ol 350d with f1.8 50mm.

cheers
Ken

Hi Ken. I think these turned out great! I'm still trying to get my homemade lighting to work for me. You've definately got it down! I'm no pro, but I really like 3,4,6 and 7. I also like the first with the sunglasses, but would like it better if the catch light were different?

Can't wait to see more experiements. :-)

Hello, my friend,

... and finally ... we were waiting for your newest photos like a rain after very long summer.....

First thing I say is that I'm very pleased with the skin tones considering that you are using a regular light-bulbs for light....great job...I have always been in troubles with light different than natural or flashes.

Using a black background is good and first thing to try and helps you create nice contrasts and very easily to unify it through levels.

I like that strange reflrection on her glasses.

Which photos do I like more than others:

#1

#2

#5

and the #1 from the "weird ones".

To be honest I like thatweird one the most. It is very interesting photo. She looks very very very ... well everything but angry... attractive if you dont mind, I would say, and for some photos that is very important. Maybe for the next time try that weird photos again with less light on her face.....

For the photos #3,#4,#5 I would keep in mind to not soft skin any more (that is my personal opinion ofcourse). I think youre on the edge to soften it too much.

Very nice work... I like it....... for sure I would like to see more....

Also, you're lucky: you have 3 personin one at the same time: Model, make up artist and designer...... smootly done

don't wait that long with new work......

regards Zak
