Below are some pics I took earlier this week of Julian. He's such a doll and smiled beautifully for the camera. C&C welcome please.

Thanks for looking

Get that kid an agent! Great captures, Angela! How did you get the black limbo effect? #3 is outrageously cute.

I also loved #3. There were soo many good shots from this impromptu session. I don't know what you mean by 'black limbo effect' or I would try to answer your question.

Thanks

It looks as Julian is floating in an infinite black universe. In other words-- did you shoot him aainst a black curtain, or did you remove the background and add black digitally, or did you just have him far enough from a background that had no light on it? Any of these techniques may have resulted in the black limbo seen here. In looking closer it looks to me as if you did use a black curtain or cloth to shoot against, yes?

Many studios have a "cyclorama" with a curved wall painted one color, giving the so-called "limbo" effect.

Thanks for the explanation. I did shoot using a black background. I'm just starting out and only have a black and a white background. I like to use the black background b/c I'm still having trouble placing my homemade lights to avoid shadows on the white b/g.

You can see some wrinkles in the b/g if you look closely. Do you think they should be smoothed out pp?

Thanks
