I attended a lighting seminar two weeks ago. Here are a couple of shots from that day. Some tweaking done on Photoshop. Which one do you guys prefer? Color or black-and-white?

Very nice work! I like them both. What lighting did you use?

I like both of them. The lighting is soft too. Great shot.

She has a lovely smile and eyes so must have made her fun to work with.

I would go for the first as I'm not keen on the hand in the second one.

Also I would suggest posting these in the people photos section as you will get many more views and comments from people who have a good knowledge of portraits.

I used butterfly lighting for this setup. One small softbox above the model, and a large softbox below as fill. There was a 2-stop difference between the two softboxes. That's it.

Yeah, something about her hand covering her chin that was giving me problems. And yes, she has a very nice smile although I had to coax her to smile properly with some of her teeth showing. She had a tendency to give a close-lipped smile.

After doing a quick google search, you're right! This qualifies more as a portrait rather than a glamour photo. Sorry about that.
