We were having lunch and playing with the setting on the 40D when I took with shot. I like the way it looked but my daughter said I took her idea, honest I wasn't thinking about her picture. At least I wasn't thinking about her picture at the time anyway.

Very good idea indeed

The background pictures, especially the smiling faces of the 'happy people'next to the 'promising' light source, the window, contributes witha meaningful contrasting element to the theme!!

IMO, the dramatic theme here, when supported by some dramatic one source lighting emphasizingits direction also, such as follows, could work well...

Thanks for the comments and the edit, the dodging to the corners really adds tothe picture.

Oh, I see now, haven't learn editing programs that well yet. Didn't have curves in the darkroom or much of anything thing else compare to what wehave today.Thanks for the posting the page you edited the photo with that give me a clue as to where to look for that type of editing.
