Very nice series. I haven't tried people photos in public - anybody object to your shooting?

BTW, aren't you a long way from home?

The people on the eastside of Milwaukee are pretty mellow is the best way to describe the vibe there. Most see me walking about the area with my camera and know I am shooting people and such.

I have had a few come up to me and ask what kind of camera I am using but never, what are you doing or why are you taking my picture.

Yes, I am very far from home and miss it very much. Since my Dad passed last June (living in Pahoa, Hawai'i) I really don't have much reason to go back and visit except to be a tourist I guess. The last nine years has been trying having lost three grandparents, two aunts and both my parents. All of them had a hand in raising me while I lived in Hawai'i, save one grandmother whowas from Rochester, New York.

This style of shooting is not for everyone but for me to get a candid moment on the fly makes for an interesting day and you slow down amongst the busy, hustle and bustle and see things you normally miss.

Life is precious, live it and capture it. That's why I enjoy photography.

Mahalo,

Tom

Tom, I feel moved by thesentence above distilled throughsome of the toughest life experiences you have kindly shared with us...After all, the higher the branches of a treerises up, the deeper its roots go down into dark, Nietche says...( however he intended something else!!)

As for the great series, you almost captured the spirits of the subjectswithin frames, like Grenouille from Patrick Süskind's novelParfume!! #4, especially, is a winner, imoAh, I need a camera almost half the size of my present one to do that kind of photography which I've beenpracticing without a camera : ) The new Oly e-420 looks a very promising one!

I like them all, especially the one with the woman and the bulldog.

bahadir,

I want to thank you so much for your insightful and kind words. It isbeyond my ability to convey in words how much I appreciate your comments about what I share.

#4 is also my favorite. I enjoyed watching them interact and it culminated in a shot I was fortunately able to take and share here.

Mahalo,

Tom
