My name is Lyn. I am from Malaysia, female, single and aged 27. Currently I am a photojournalist with hopes that one day someone would go WOW at my photos. I am also a regular contributer to lifestyle magazines. My full time job however is a marketing manger which really doesnt leave me much time to take shots. I enjoy photography, travelling, and talking to people about their life story. I have my own website at www.sassalyn.com and it needs updating!

I do a lot of question postings and find that this forum is the best. In a recent magazine review I did, I gave Steve 3 thumbs up.

Thanks all,
Lyn

Hi Sassalyn. Your web site is quite introspective.

Hello hello,

I知 new to the boards, but the photo shots taken from the photographers here are exceptional quality and what made me want to stick around and see what evolves. I do not have any appropriate pictures of myself as of yet, I知 waiting for the opportune moment =P For those who want a brief history on my alias & avatar, I知 simply a type of person whom can remain hidden if need be, and I will especially take advantage of that during online games =P

I知 your typical 21 year old game wanabee programmer in my 4th year of Software Engineering at the University of Ottawa. Photography has always been an interesting pastime of mine, and so I occasionally go out and take photos of things. I知 mostly into astrology and I only recently acquired the means to take basic photos of the sky. My old photos can be seen via my website, but bear in mind that I host this website locally on my Internet connection, it won稚 be the fastest. I do this mainly because I got frustrated at the lack of free services that would offer me full script control. I like to design webpages where the only effort is to drag and drop =)

Oh man, you are killing me over here with that Ali G comment. That is so funny!

Congratulations on winning the photo contest!

ok, this sounds fun
first, i know my avatar looks stupid, i cut my finger even tho it's not in the pic, i had a huge bandage on my finger and couldn't hold the camera very good
i'm a 13 year old from ohio
13 sounds young but it's not to me, so BACKOFF!!
no, i'm just playing
i've got a 7hi, but from hints from parents i am geting a d100, for the holidays
i mainly shoot baseball and football (highschool)
i would say the the dude from www.thesmokinglens.com is the person that "inspired" me to get into photography, he lives about 4-5 blocks away from me
here is one of my "better" high school pics

OK, I'll pitch in. My name is Tom and I'm 37. I'm married to my gorgeous wife Anwen with 2 children. I work as a Senior Technical Consultant for an IT Company here in North Wales. I specialise in big broadband wireless networks.

I live on the Island of Anglesey off the North Wales coast with beautiful views of the Snowdonia mountains and the sea, hopefully I'll post some good shots of these. My hobbies are Photography (duh) Computing, powerboating (I have a Maxum 17ft). wakeboarding (or rather lying in the sea with a plank on my feet falling over a lot). Motorsports, mostly rallying.

I have been photographing for 20 odd years, as an amateur/enthusiast. with an Olympus OM-101, then a few digitals DC265 and for the last couple of years with a DC4800. Last week I got my EOS 300D. I want to learn more about taking good shots but can't find any professional help locally :-( the only evening classes seem to be solid booked a year in advance.

Anyway, I have been reading Steves site for 4 years or so and still think its the best digicam site on the 'net. I even won a dpotd once ! I have only got into the forums in the last month or so and have already learnt a great deal from all you guys who have a lot more photoskill than me. Thanks for everything and seasons greetings

One of the few pictures of myself that I have.

I'm 52 and live in Medford, OR. I'm a retired US Navy submariner, avid golfer, and sometimes fly fisherman.

Enjoying the friendly community at this forum!

I was very much into photography some time ago, using a Nikon 8080 and doing color darkroom work. For some reason, photography fell out of favor and I put it aside for almost 10 years save the occassional family or vacation snapshots. I recently traded in my Nikon system for a Canon DRebel and am having a ball learning Photoshop.
