Hi Melanie

This is a great idea!

All the folks here seem pretty nice!

However, my only concern is that though we consider
this "our forum", all we post and share are open
to all.

Alternatively, perhaps, we could "all" meet somewhere in USA or
the Continent or ??? and create a "photo happening!" and have a great slide show every night as we offer our 'best" of each day.

Selvin...are you listening?

But in the spirit of your suggestion, Melanie...

Here are some "answers" about me.

No, none, not yet.

Bicycling, hiking/camping in mtns, running, shooting photos at dusk or dawn to catch the soft, warm low-angle light.

Informal gatherings with friends and family.

Working on "my" land and home (actually, I consider myself less an
owner and more of a caretaker...just here "temporarily"
on the land, itself, which is eternal).

As they say in the art world...There ya Gogh!

Well I just put my picture in my avitar... So there I am.. As you can see I live in Portland, ME. It gets way to cold here too quickly... :? Im 100% all Maina. "I pak my cah' at the stora' to buy some lobsta"... 8)

Im almost 25 years old (Another week) and my fiancee and I like to hit the outdoors to take some pictures whenever we can. We also have 4 cats... Sometimes they'll let me take a few pictures when Im bored...

Other hobbies I do is mostly computers or do things outside. Sometimes its really hard to do something around the place when you live in the city. But anyways, thats about it.

Here is probably one of my favorite pictures I have taken. It was with my old Canon G1, I think...

It took me a while to find this forum, though I don't know why. After a recent and intricate Google search, however, I fell into this delightful group of people.

The facts: I'm 58 and have enjoyed a photography hobby for nearly 30 years, sliding into digital happily. I'm on my third digicam, an Oly E-20, which I love. Normally, I'm a writer, but carpal tunnel syndrome has put that (not often lucrative) career on hold for a while, but who cares? I've my camera and Photoshop, and I'm happy.

One husband, one son, currently no pets.

And I do hope I've linked properly to a favorite photo of my Number One Son.

Okay, so none of the linking worked. Either I used the [img] tags incorrectly--though I don't think so--or linking isn't allowed at Road Runner.

Very annoyed.
