Man, you know I said it is inspiring when you post.... there is only one major problem having you back...... I really want to get a good portable outdoor lighting solution...... you are going to cost me money if we are not careful!! LOL.

I seriously love #5, great lighting and exposure.

Number one as a great mood, is this a flash unit or a light that was already there?

It's a pleasure to see such a variety of the environments and the light used. Amazing collenction of wonderful images..

I like the way you use the light and colors (a bit of green grass in foreground that adds an interests and captures the eye in a beach shot, for example). As well as all the details and contrast that you offer in your environmental photos (the car wracks, building rubbish, every single touch of light).

Thank you for sharing!

My best wishes,
Irena

Hi,
For picture one.
It was shot during midday during one of my location workshops.
One of the topics I discuss during that workshop is to make day to night.
A simple colortemp correction and including part of the lightsource in the picture makes this work.
The rest is pretty much as it's out of the camera.

For location work Elinchrom has a new nice solution called the Quanta.
It will be released in the new year, I will be beta testing the Quanta this month to see how it performs in the real world.
But it looks like a wonderful solution if you don't want/need the 1100ws Rangers.

Greetings,
Frank

Wow! Don't stay gone so long again, Frank. Your work is both inspiring to those of us wanting to learn and terrifically humbling for every time we're tempted to be too proud of our own work.

This is a fantastic collection of images. I appreciate your explanation on #1. The colors are striking. #2 is probably the photo I like best because of the interplay of light and shadow on the face. Like is probably the wrong word for my feelings on #4. It's disturbing, but incredibly effective. The highlights on the ribs of the cage demand your attention.

Thanks for sharing these. I always enjoy your work, and it's always a treat to see new images.

Paul
