Default Action pic here....how do i improve it??

hey there everybody.
over the weekend i played with my buddies F717.
i was very impressed with the quality of the pics.

i took this pic below on full auto mode, but had it on burst mode at full 5Mp fine setting.
what i wanted to know is how can i improve my action shots with this camera.
what settings do i need to change to get rid of the motion blurr.

any input will be great thanks.

to get rid of motion blur, you need a fast shutter (about 1/640 or faster!) speed or/and a big aperature size (small F).
You'll need to focus manual before, so the cam doesn't have to use autofocus.
Of course good light conditions are necessary for a fast shutter speed!
