Interesting. I didn't notice until your comment, and it's hardly noticable. The contrast on your monitor must be higher then most.

This is a powerfull photo!

Beautifully lightened, softened, sharpened, whatever it took to get this expression. It's outstanding in tonal values with beautiful subtle colours.

Would you be so kind as to explain som of the process(es) you have done to this picture? After all, we are her to learn from each other, aren't we?

Congratulations on a exeptional photo!

Thanks for all the comments.

Basically this was shot in a doorway with light also coming in from behind me from a window as well. Was shot RAW on a canon 40D and I adjusted it in Digital photo pro to the canon neutral setting. Took it into photoshop as a tiff and cropped, levels and added a layer which I softened and then erased at differing opacity (100% around the eye area). did a layer mask on the cheeks and smoothed slightly with Gaussian blur. applied unsharp mask to eyes and then used the sponge on 15% to saturate the eyes just a little. Thats about all I can remember

by the way I cant see anything near her lip

The white spot is barely visible, but I can clearly see it on my 26" screen.

Have a nice day!

I love the tones on this shots. Thanks for sharing your procedure. I didn't have a problem at all with the hair....the eyes were so captivating that they drew all my attention to that region of the face.
