I expect that no one involved with this trade show expects any good photos to result. The attractive women are there to lure in the guys with the cameras, hoping that while they are there, they will spend, spend, spend. Good portraits aren't possible in a public place, with ugly props, rumpled bedsheets for backgrounds, and zero knowledge of posing and lighting.

Thank you very much for you information Daniel! You hit the problem right on. I was there to help my friend to rectify his Nikon D90 white balance issue(add more blue colour). He was using the 18-200MM lens for this test. I was using a 14-50MM lens. His photo is fine.
