Default Some street scenes in Westlake village

All Images with the Pentax K-20D and Tokina 20-35F/2.8
This part of town has one of the highest crime rates in Los Angeles.

These folks where out in a very public street caring on as if no one existed ..
Here I am 3 feet away from them and they don't notice me making their picture

It was cool to see old school shoe shine work going on.

The reason the ''bootleg'' DVD'S are on a blanket is so that when the police come by to raid them,
they simply grab the blanket by the four corners and run into the subway.
I figured this out when I saw it with my own eyes.

I found this place very difficult to photograph because people did not trust me.
They looked at me as if I where a cop...Still, I feel like I caught some real emotion.

This was very much a scene of life here...

I can't resist umbrella shots.

The reality of all of Los Angeles...

Even me who Love street food, was not brave enough to buy something from these folks.....

Constructive critique is always appreciated and welcomed...
Blessings to you all.

Very interesting set of pictures. Guess it been way too long since I have been to Westlake Village. Your pictures show a completely different Village than I remember from years ago.

Your shot of the Westlake theater shows a lot of change. I remember when that theater up thought to be in the upscale part of town.
