A wonderful nice shot yesir, it reminds me of great reportage shots !

I'm not extremly conviced of the need of sharpening the hairs :
though technically good and nice (for a studio portrait they would be quite ok) they are contrasting with the enviromnent and the dirty faces and, mostly, they detract attention from the main expressive elements of the shot : the eyes !

It was their sad eyes that caught my own eyes and mind....

Place, somewhere on planet earth.. there are still children living in a what we called 'sub-standard' world .

Truly a heart pulling picture. It reminds me of how much I have to be thankful for as we near the US thanksgiving season. An excellent picture and I love the black and white interpertation best.

The mother in me wants to feed them, clothe them, play with them, tuck them into a warm bed at night.

I like the photo in monochrome, too, but I think those faces need to be brought out more by selecting only the faces, then working with levels and sharpening and, if necessary, dodging and burning.

i like the faces darker with the light shining on top of their head...adds to the saddness of the image
