I thought these belong here, too. I originally posted then at pbjunkiee's thread on Topaz.

#1) An honest living. (Taken on 42nd Street near Grand Central Terminal.)

#2) Gap parents. (Taken at Rockefeller Plaza.)

I kind of like the first of the HDR(?) shots, I really like the subject. The second one, I like the subject and the caption, but the PP not so much, seems over done, or it could just be me in a grouchy mood.

Thanks, waoldrifelman.

For #1, if you notice his right hand is gloved. I suppose that's what he uses to pick up stuff like soda cans for deposit, for instance. His left, ungloved hand is what he's using in the photo to touch his face. I suppose he keeps that hand clean. So, filthy-looking he might be but he does exercise some degree of hygiene -- maybe even more than what I can say for some of my office coworkers here in Mahnattan.

The photo below shows his gloved hand more prominently. Sorry for the poor quality of the shot -- I wasn't prepared when he started moving.

For #2, I agree it looks overdone. It isn't HDR, BTW. (Both pics are actually single-JPEGs.) I'm trying out Topaz Adjust and used one of its presets. The original Topaz Adjust output was actually smoother. But when I started playing around with PSE7's sliders, I thought I hit a good representation of the hot and humid day when I took the shot.

I used Topaz Denoise on #2. I'm hoping this one's better. Comments welcome.

I really like it. A universal pic of any boy playing. And I like all the PP.

Thanks, Paul. I was taking several shots of the fountains and pools when the boy darted into my scene. A few moments later I heard what must have been his dad's voice from the thick crowd calling out to him. He left then ran back to try the other pool.

My second photo when he came back is really bad. The angle was off and it wasn't focused properly. But good thing Topaz's other plug-in called "Clean" can salvage it. I think it's the same plug-in that some have used here.

#5) One of the presets of Topaz's "Clean" plug-in.

#6) Here's my un-processed shot.

While I love the capture, I am not a fan of the PP. I have the same plugins from Topaz, but I can't seem to come up with anything I really like. Just my opinion though.
