Javier,

I always love looking at your photos and I enjoyed this new set too.

I hope everyone doesn't really give me a hard time but, one thing does bother me a little. I have read as much as I can about photographer's rights, all about in public places and in plain site and all that jazz. One thing that I have often read is that it may not be okay if you paint people in a "bad light".

Now the photos of the guys walking and sitting to me are great and tell an interesting story but labeling them as drunks may not be the best way to caption. I had several alcoholic uncles and I just can't see how labeling anyone as a drunk can be a positive thing.

Again I love your work just not those particular titles.

Now I guess I may get lots of hate mail which made me really not want to comment at all, but I just felt that I should. I apologize if I have offended anyone.

Andy

Andy,
Sorry for the late reply and I took no offense and would hope no one else would. As for the titles in my images, they are what they are. There are many drunks on both my side and my wifes side of the family and have seen first hand the destruction that getting drunk can bring. I also know many folks who drink and know when to stop and I have no problem with that. Having said that, I will be more careful in selecting titles.
Blessings to you.

Really nice sets here of Street people! I actually went through all 51 pages and seen some really great shots ! Man has Hollywood changed from when I was little... Ventura not far thats where I have been many times when my grandmother lived out on one of the many orchards of the hills... She moved back to Visalia after her fall... So sad some of the shots but hey thats what life has became when so many choose to abuse what they abuse in ways they do .... I sure do hope some of them will see better days than what they do now Oh one of a guy sitting in the streets I know he was from up here in Washington I remember seeing him hanging around here! One of Asbestos killing people for all information that stuff has been around for way to many years...They used it in brake shoe lining and in house siding I am still alive and I don't have cancer at all... ... so I don't know just how they even say its much of a killer... Though my own grandfather got a settlement and his own brother owned a asbestos shop in Mt Vernon WA.... ??? I don't know what is going on but I can feel something that is not right via others pulling the ranks there!

Hi folks. Well, I went out for a labor day street crawl on Monday and by that I mean a crawl. It is hard to walk very far and or fast with a knee brace, but I managed...Anyway, I have seen many strange things over the years, but this has to be in the top 5. This was the most bizarre deal. First I was in one of the Ghetto parts of Hollywood. I saw this fellow sitting at the bus stop so I proceeded to cross the street and took this snap. When he saw me take the snap, he got up and started to walk away, so I took another quick one while still walking in the street as he was walking away. Normally I am not a chimper, but this was strange to me as I thought there where two people. When I looked and saw that it was one. What was more creepy, is that it looked just like the fellow with the legs, I had to try and get a third pic. So here I am peg leg and all chasing him to tray and get a close up when he saw me and started to cuss me out in a strange language...I thought he was going to attack me, so I started to get ready, but he backed off and walked away.

Javier, I had a thought..(this picture is extremely disturbing to me), maybe this thing he is carrying is the top half of his alter-ego. These people may be commonplace in L.A., but down here they are extremely rare, thank God.
