Default Studio Experiments...

I have the opportunity to work with Melissa again if anyone recalled her image from nature:
http://forums.steves-digicams.com/la...y-warning.html

But this time in a much more controlled environment as we were buried by the snow last month:
Fasten Your Seat Belt (nudity warning): http://www.pbase.com/nhl/image/122937259/original.jpg
Wrap in Blue (nudity warning): http://www.pbase.com/nhl/image/122937289/original.jpg
-> Which one do you prefer?

The first one definitely has the sense of motion to the right. The entire pose suggests wind coming from the right. In fact with that particular pose, you almost expect to see a fan off the right blowing on her. The problem is her hair is hanging free and it goes against that sense of wind or motion. I think a fan blowing her hair would have put the finishing touch on the pose.

Over all I like the idea of the second pose but something about gives the appearance that she has just seen something on the seat and is cowering. Something simple like head placement or eyes looking someplace else might get rid of that appearance.

Lastly the blue hue of the background I do not like. I prefer blowing out the background more. Lose the blue hue and get more white.

Both are good but if I had to choose one I would go with 1.

Thank you for the comments, and I tend to agree with everyone as I prefer the pose in #1 as well.
#2 IMO has the better lighting however with the contrast and highlight...

... and yes both can be further improved with Photoshop

I like #1 better something about her hair in #1 grabs my attention more than number 2

I think a fan blowing her hair would have put the finishing touch on the pose.

That make have looked nice but for me it would have been even more perfect if she had just dampened her hair down or even had just washed it before the photo and then striked that pose.

Nice shots, must have been hard to keep a straight face :-)

BTW if you have a chance to work with her again how about asking her to dampen her hair she wait it does for the photos and different poses.....

Blue Dream (same warning applies)

I still prefer 1, it has a a "flow" going for it... It seems fluent.
