Default Goofing Off

What do you do when your camera is ready to go but you aren't?
Why, take a picture of the situation, of course.

The composition was partly done by chance. If you look at the photo carefully, you can see there was no way I could twist my upper half so as to photograph my lower half, not unless I used a cable release--which is what I did. I composed the picture by first placing a small box where I planned to put my feet and then framed using that box. The trick was to place my feet exactly where the box had been. Had I not been quite so lazy at that moment, I would have searched for a box that stood as tall as my feet. It took a number of shots before I stopped amputating the toes of my sneakers.

The nice thing about digital photography is that you can erase all evidence of bad pictures.
