Default Fashion Photography on the Streets of New York

This was going on yesterday on the 42nd Street side of the New York Public Library.

#1) Getting prepped.

#2) Ready for the shoot.

#3) Shoot.

#4) And again. Sorry the male model is blurred. Ah, but us guys don’t care about him, right?

#5) Soon it was over.

None of my friends, relatives, or anyone that I ever worked with ever looked anywhere near as perfect and so I was always in a mild state of shock whenever they moved or talked I forget they’re human beings not mannequins...

Thank you for looking. C&C welcome.

You were lucky the models didn't charge you their usual modeling fee while you were shooting.

Summer is officially 17 days away and they're already doing the fall fashion shoots.

Thanks for an interesting look behind the scenes.

Regards

Interesting and very nice shots - I guess you never know what you'll see in the streets of NYC (what a rhyme )

Thank you, Ned and Maggo85.

Yes, you never know what you'll run into on the streets of NYC. If you get lucky, you can spot celebrities, too. I once crossed Lexington Avenue beside Wayne Knight -- the actor who played "Denis" in Jurassic Park and "Newman" in Seinfeld -- whose only disguise was a Daily News rolled under his armpit.

One time I saw three of the four "Sex and the City" girls -- Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon (if Kim Catrall was there I didn't notice) -- at Bryant Park on my way home. They were seated inside a stretch limo on 40th Street with the door wide open. They were wearing bridal gowns. Somehow the studio people on the street didn't see me walk past their barricade -- I didn't even know there was filming going on I was just hurrying trying to catch my ride home at Port Authority -- and got close to maybe ten feet from the girls who were all looking at me wide-eyed and open-mouthed as if asking what's-this-guy-doing-here-? which was precisely the same question I had about them.

Odd thing, I was listening to something on BBC about one of the world's best photographers... who shoots all the known actors and actresses... He has been in it for so long... but now seems to want to get away from that.. Interesting thing he said was, these people have everything but there is so much unhappiness. Interesting.

All the best.

Ned

Yes, that was Daryl Strawberry's message, too, when he was promoting his book at Bryant Park a week or so ago. He said he found out that living in a $2 million dollar home wasn't what he wanted. It didn't bring him happiness.
