Default Naked Cowboy and My Wife in Times Square

Taken today in Times Square in New York.

#1) The Naked Cowboy is a regular attraction in Times Square during the hot summer months.

#2) He makes you put your hand on one of his butt-cheeks...

#3) ...then places his hand above yours barely touching it just to give the effect that he's grabbing on to you.

#4) He's actually very nice. He doesn't have a set price for his deed. You just approach and he starts making poses with you.

And if you miss shooting a pose -- as I did -- you just say so and he does it again.

One time he even carried a woman in his arms -- he really makes people laugh. You then put a dollar or two in his guitar. I think one woman even walked away forgetting to put any. (Or was it on purpose? Hard to tell as she was laughing hard and was very animated. As you can see, so was my wife. Anyway...)

He then hands you a postcard containing advertisements for his sponsors.

Haha!
Cool shots. Does he play the guitar or is it just for show?

Best regards/Daniel

From what I know he is a Time Square institution. He has been on all sorts of tv shows and I believe even a spot in a movie or two that were filming in Times Square. He is a pretty good guitar player/singer.

Thanks for the reponses.

Daniel, I see him strumming the guitar from time to time and singing. (I used to work in Times Square some years ago). But he hardly gets to do this for more than a minute because someone always approaches to chat or take pictures. Besides, you can't really hear him from all the noise and traffic in Times Square. So I don't know if the guitar is just for show. He does have a CD album (I think) on his website.

Maggo85, I actually accidentally left my camera on manual at a speed of 1/15 -- settings from a previous bracket of shots. Thanks for mentioning the blurred people -- I like it, too. I'll remember setting to shutter priority mode next time. I think I can handle speeds of 1/15 or 1/20 handheld.

Also, he's a one-man event so he's not 24-7. I hope you get lucky and see him there in August.

Yes, Bynx, he has that effect on women. I don't know what it is with women that makes them a tad too gleeful when they touch a man's behind . Here's a shot of the woman he carried. She just can't stop laughing as he swung her 'round and 'round.

Hi, Bynx. Yes, he even sued (and won -- can't remember if it was settlement or not -- still a win for me) M&M for infringing on his copyright. M&M World in Times Square had an M&M character on its jumbotron costumed like the Naked Cowboy but didn't ask permission from him.

#5) M&M World in Times Square. (No, it's not showing the Naked Cowboy character.)

OK now. I wasn't going to look at this thread. Couldn't help myself. Well done. Good sequence.

Very, very nice, some of your best....With that motion blur, these would be excellent black and whites!
