Default Pic in a Pic (just for fun)

I thought i'd try out that pic on the phone idea today. As a novelty image, it is fun. A little more work on the inset (round the corners, get the phone in focus, work on the angle) and I think I'll have a winner.

the problem is that the phone is not in focus, but the picture on the phone is... which is a dead giveaway..

i think you need enough dof to get the phone sharp too.

Oh I know. It was a first quick effort and I had a tough enough time explaining what I wanted to do. Also, it wasn't very bright, we were too close and I didn't take the time to swap shutter speed for aperture. In other words, I got a hundred excuses.

Hey Frank, looks like you pinched the idea that I pinched LOL.

If we go back to how I did it. The camera/phone needs to be in focus, and then the 2nd shot that will be put into the phone is taken from exactly where the phone was. This means that you get the subject looking (assuming they are looking) at the phone in both shots. This will add realism. If you go for the greater dof then you can have everything in focus, I preferred to go for just the phone in focus and obviously the phones photo in focus too.

Anyone wanting to check out what on earth I'm talking about got to http://forums.steves-digicams.com/pe...il-mervat.html and it's the first photo.
