Looks like you had a lot of fun. I think the main thing is just because you have f1.4 you don't have to use it all the time. You've lost focus on the eyes in some of the shots which by stopping down you would have been able to bring back.

2 is my favorite, poss a bit more pop with the contrast would help but apart from that a cool photo.

The eyes are out out of focus--you may have a back focusing issue.

I don't think it's a focus issue, but rather the DOF being too shallow. Let's take the first shot as it is probably the easiest to see, the closer eye is sharp as expected but with the 85mm lens at f1.4 that DOF is pretty narrow so it falls off too quickly and the other eye is OOF.

Yup i saw that i goofed royal when i got on my pc, its a steep learning curve with this 85 1.4 :P

i knew it had a shallow dof, but not that shallow

ill see what i can do on 2 to pop it more, but for some reason 7 (2nd to last) is my favorite, i front focused that one a little on purpose, what do you guys think on it, does it work, or no?

and as always guys, thanks for the critiques, i really do appreciate them.

Jeff

Jeff. It has been in my experience and I shoot Nikon and Pentax, that no lens likes to be shot wide open. All my F/1.4 lenses like F/2.0 as an example, and these are good quality lenses. Just a FYI.

You, lazy photographer. She's a gorgeous chick. Just do your homework.
