Default In Concert

Here is a low light image from our church's Christmas concert. (one of many I took that night)

P Mode settings:

No flash
Focal Length: 67mm
Aperture: 3.2
Shutter: 1/6
ISO: 80
WB: Auto
+0.7 EV

PhotoShop: Resize (no cropping) and Unsharp Mask 0.8 @ 100%

I am impressed that you were able to use 1/6th of a second and not get any apparent motion blur from the actors. Wow.

Thanks Selvin, I took about 90+ photos that night, about 1/3 turned out as good as the one below. Moving people/objects are hard to catch at night without a flash

I am very impressed also and the aperture was 3.2

How can this be done?

tripod and a spot where they don't move....lol i guess there isn't more than that.....

I was using a tripod on the balcony in the church. I had the camera on 'burst mode' I took 6-7 shots in a row of each scene and chose the best out of each group. The beauty of digital and a desent sized LCD to determine if the capture was good. Part patience and part luck

The aperture range on my DX6490 is 2.8 to 3.7 (at 10x) . When I framed the shot using the zoom it went to F 3.2 @ 67mm.
