That 's been popular here for so long with children, and I think it originally came over to this side of the Atlantic from England. My children used to enjoy it. I just assumed that it was also well known in your part of Europe.

Steven,

No, no. I like to know such things. Also like such idiomatic expressions- "Throw a curve". From the american football perhaps and found it's way to ordinary language. A ball tricky to catch?

I'll study the Waldo/Wally game/play.

I wish you and your family a nice weekend

All good people, including Julian A.,

who did nothing wrong. This is an "after-market" picture. Used to live around the corner in a newly built house made to match the older buildings. Something terrible happened

Still crying, not in any fr...... chapel, but in the face of the Holy Sun and in remembrance of the Forefathers and Foremothers

Hi Torgny: communication is a wonderful thing. Yes, "throw a curve" is a common idiomatic expression adopted from American baseball. The curve ball is one of the types of pitches throw by the pitcher to the batter, along with the fastball, slider, sinker, knuckle-ball, etc.
