Default Shanghai - Lvjiazui's 'Boardwalk'

I decided it was about time I took some more street shots - so these were shot on the Lvjiazui 'Boardwalk' in Shanghai on New Year's Day :

Visitors to Shanghai from the countryside. Actually their son was taking their photo - the smiles are their reaction to me !

Checking his shot.

One of the tourist set-scenes - they have a whole rack of clothes to choose from !

Rose selling girls press their luck.

Want a close up view, across the river, of The Bund ?

They were all set up for one of their friends to take their photo and all - but one - were highly amused when I lined up a shot from behind her !

Posing for her father - we compared shots afterwards.

More to come tomorrow !

Very colorful account of street life there Kevin! Great to see smiling faces to greet the new year!
BTW is it the custom in China to shield germs when one has a cold? It seems to be common in Japan as well...although I'm not sure the real benefits!

Thank you Jehan ! Mask: they are not usually worn with other people in mind (as in Japan) - more to protect themselves ! Often used as an anti-pollution measure against the vast amount of traffic here (and I imagine keep you warmer when there is a cold biting wind - like now) - there is no pollution producing industry permitted with about 15 kms of downtown, all were relocated over the past 20 years into the suburbs/countryside.

Thanks Javier - if you enjoyed them then I must be doing something right !

Last month when I was in SE Asia, I saw people all bundle up when it was 20c. But 0c is pretty cold for that area.

ha ha - yes in Singapore / Malaysia / Thailand etc. then 20C is cold and the coats will come out ! HK can get down to 0C or even lower on rare occasions but Shanghai touches zero in Winter (ave. 7 - 9C in January).

I was in Hanoi and HK, it was about 20c and I was running around in shorts and a T-shirt. Everyone else was all bundled up.
