Default Ready to take on the world...

...or the dizzying array of signs in Times Square, at least.

I took this picture yesterday morning.

Great shot, Billy.
I get a feeling of isolation and insignificance looking at the figure all alone amongst the technology and buildings. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat.

Thanks, all, for the compliments.

Mark, when the man walked into my frame, I knew I had something but couldn't place what. "Insignificance" is it -- thanks.

Ordo, in your phrase, "a picture of society", the absence of "capitalist" in front of "society" is screaming at me that the message may well be in what was not said.

Lisa, I used to say you cannot feel more alive than in Times Square because of the constant party atmosphere and people in the trendiest attires. But now I think it depends on one's definition of "alive". I feel alive, too, looking at landscape pics.

I positioned myself in the corner of 45th, 7th, and Broadway being that there was plenty of sidewalk space there I didn't notice before. Of my 6 or so shots, the man appeared in only one. He was soon joined by others in the succeeding frame. Here is the middle shot. HDR erased the other pedestrians leaving the man alone.

Busses, cars, taxis, buildings...wonder where else we can clutter things up with more ads and billboards. That's what I was thinking.
