My favorite type of photography.

This shot requires a brave model. That water must have been freezing which usually keeps the rocks very cold.

A difficult shoot to say the least but the results are very nice. The sun is exposing the right portions of her face and body along with the piece of ice below her. The desaturation works well with the shadows and white water.

Two things I may have done differently;
1. turn her face slightly more towards the sun
2. move her foot so you cannot see the bottom of it.

Overall a beautiful shot.
Well done.

I agree with #2, but much easier to notice on-screen after the shot than when hurried on location.
(Clone it out may be)

As for #1 I do have more variations, but I like Melissa facial features casting their shadows on her shoulder below in this one, plus the angles of her arms triangulated well with her straight body line...

Thanks for commenting

I’ve got to say, NHL, that you do these kinds of shots so well. It is amazing how you make these lovely women blend into and become a part of the landscape/environment. I really like the lighting and shadows in this shot.

Man, is she brave. that water had to be freezing.

Beautiful, nature at it's finest.
