Default Enigma

I saw this guy sitting at the Farmer's Market on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Red-eyed, and awkwardly hunched over his accordion, he wasn't bad. I walked up and dropped a few bills in his box, and he looked right into the camera and worked his accordion even louder.

I cropped the shot very closely to try to get that cramped, awkward feeling he seemed to have. Whether he was grateful for being paid, resentful at having to perform to make ends meet, or just giving me what he felt was a fair exchange for the money, I have no idea.

I wish him well.

I am glad you helped him out. Everyone needs a friend sometimes especially at times like this.

My apologies, WCKSer. I clumsily posted into your thread. I really like your shot, and I guess I just didn't get out of the thread when I posted. '

Again, my apologies.

Mike,

I am not her friend. She was just my random subject I saw her that day from the upper level of the garden. Her friend showed up a few minutes later.

Don't worry about it! Your picture touched me. I look around everywhere I go, there are a lot of people who are down and out and needs help. I am really glad that you are generous enough to help him out.

Both pictures are very good with strong feelings. It shows them both waiting for someone or something. Waiting would make for a good biweekly contest subject, seeing as you two have already set the bar high for everyone.

The man with the accordion is perfectly taken. His look can be translated into so many different viewpoints. Beautiful shot!
