I haven't used my flashes in a while and I needed to break them out and see if I could remember how to use them.
These were taken using 3 fleshes in wireless mode. The HVL 43 as the controlling flash on camera not emitting any light during the exposure and 2 remote HVL 58s with two 48" shoot through umbrellas.
My goal was to see if I could remember how to control the all light from the onboard flash.

I remembered but also learned something new. I love it when that happens.

One last goodbye shot.

You did good on the lighting. Number one is my favorite, very sensual, and black and white is perfect for that shot. The second pose wasn't as thrilling, but the last is very good, just a pretty girl posing nicely. Good job, Mike.

yup, all real nice.

In many ways (especially the B&Ws with black back drop) is the kind of format close to my heart.

Right on target with the B&W shots. Nice color shot also but the background is a bit cluttered and I will make no comment on the red (private joke) shirt.
One thing I do have to say is that you are a braver man than me. I grew up in some on the worst parts of LA and Gardena, I was even in a gang for a while but never had the guts you showed in posting the title to this thread. OK, you can call your camera old but calling your wife old (which we can all see from your pictures isn't true), that is just something even I don't have the guts to say in my house.

Thanks;

The last shot was at 1.4 after we were done shooting. Just playing with DOF but it's a cute shot of her.

Me brave? Don't need to be with that statement. We both see the years going by way too fast and she always reminds me that I'm older then her.

She's a pretty good sport most of the time.

She got a laugh from this post as did I knowing it was relative to your post.
I will say as we age older women do become even more beautiful.

Thank goodness.

Love Black and White photography. The look of contemplation in the first image strikes a chord for me for some reason. Very nice (both shots and subject)

Do you do the B&W in camera or after in post?
