Here's the behind the scene look that was asked for from previous thread:

The Sony A900 was on a tripod for that wide-angle landscape look while my assistant/2nd model was controlling it with a wireless remote

Notice the hot spots from the sun on my model/assistant in the foreground on the left... and how the beauty dish even them out on the actual subject on the right

Beautiful image. Im sure that you and the model were very happy with the final images. The lighting is excellent. It does have a fairy tale feel to it.

So now that you have had a couple of shoots with your new flash and beauty dish, what are the main advantages you find using this setup compared to what you were using?

Any trade-offs?

It appears that you are modifying the light with a cover.

How did the wide angle shots come out?

It's really not a new flash but the same Elinchrom's I had for the studio, the only difference is they are now powered by a portable Vagabond power pack to shoot on location with no AC. Normally I shoot slow exposure to capture the water flow, but the creek somewhat run dry by the end of summer so I have to change my settings: http://forums.steves-digicams.com/pe...ml#post1379627

Yes I have a sock on top and a gold reflector inside the beauty dish to warm up the light. With this set-up I have more control of the background which I could brightened or darkened at will...
The color balance is now also better and I no longer need to fix the green cast from the leaves filtering down from above.
