Here is everything I used:

New tripod (hehe I dont have much stuff)
Canon powershotG1 or G2 I dont know.. the older one...
As for lighting I used all the possible lights from overhead but I did not want to blind y subject so I tried not to do much else. I also am not good with lighting, so that may be a problem. Is it too yellow?

Discodudette...

This is a great photo!

This is why...

It "tells" me something about your Mom...

She is a woman who enjoys the fine arts, loves music and flowers
and collects art and may have an interest in ancient architecture!

You have succeeded in paying a visual homage to your mom!

I agree with Digcamfan's assessment except for one technicality--that picture really, really needs to be straightened. Try to get the vertical lines truly perpendicular.

(That's one very pretty mom you've got. )

Wow thanks everyone for the comments. I straightened it out, but was forced to crop out soe stuff so that is fit. It was really off, but I think it was the angle because I had it sitting on a table on a tripod. And yes, the table has 4 legs.

That's a good portrait of mom - the cropped version losses some of the ambience of the original.
