I like it. Looks like morning sunlight to me. Somehow the eyes are too sharp.

It's shot at 23:30 in our bedroom, this was a test with only the 420EX flash bouncing of the ceiling, the real shots will be done in our studio with the proper lighting.
We just had no mood to take too much time ;D.

The eyes are sharp like the original, the rest of the picture is sharpened, I love to have sharp eyes.

Greetings,
Frank

Default Great!

Love the first one! The only thing I might have done differently was not have her leaning on her hand so her arm wouldn't distract from her face. You could also use a small (constant, but less intense than your main light) light source on her face...that would close her pupils more & show off her eye color.

This comment actually has nothing to do with the technical aspect of your pictures (I actually love the cheesy "glamour" look). Anyway (again, this is just my opinion), I think it would look a bit more "glamorous" if she had used some/more makeup. People, even photographers, often do not realize the impact of an expertly applied face. Again, just a thought for future shots....

I really disagree with you on this one. Beauty need not be painted, and in that first shot,
which is certainly meant to be high key, make-up would have ruined the effect. Even more than that,
I think it would have hidden what is naturally beautiful.

We can agree to disagree, then. Certainly I am a newbie, but I'm also a bit of an amateur makeup artist. I just think a little bit of color to her face (definitely NOT bright painted red lips) could have added more to the shot. I never want to make someone look like someone else (unless that is the desired effect). I want to bring out their inner beauty to shine for the camera. Again, my 2 cents...

Hi,
Agree with you but some people are better without.
Annewiek (my wife ) never weares make up, also the setting of the shots with the bear is meant to be innocent and clean, so make up would have ruined that.

Please look at the other modelshoots at www.doorhof.nl and see that normally I use a good deal of make up, but it has to suit the model and the setting offcourse.

Greetings,
Frank

Hi, Frank! Nice website, I really like how it was designed. Did you do anything special to get that soft look in the first shot? I like it.
