beautiful shots of a extremly gorgeous subject. Kalypso just wanted to tell you that i love your work and the only reason i come to the "people" photos thread is to see what you have posted.

I like the first one butI don't care much for the choice of background.

Too much loss of detail in the shadows of the second one.

Great shoot, I love this kind of background.

Greetings,

I think there is a statement there....
She's wearing black and looks somewhat gothic with a snap in her eyes; the location helps to point this out; a cemetary.

The 2nd photo of her doesn't lose detail- it just blends in with the darkness of that tombstone which is somewhat distracting.

Allow me to clarify, I don't mind the cemetary background. I meant that particular background...the white paint/markings

The dark shadows are exactly what I'm referring to...that's where the detail is lost. The bright background sky is overpowering which is causing the tonal range to be beyond the capability of the medium. It is not a judgement or critique of Kalypso's talent, merely an observation. I'm sure he's aware of it. I've seen enough of his work to know that he is very talented.

Both nice pictures and a pretty subject.
I like the posture and expression of the girl.
i ll have to agree with ohenry that the white paint on the first is a bit distracting but at the same time it gives extra contrast to the photo and imo makes it look more natural..
In the second pic i love the way that the dress blends with the shadows, making the photo look more "revealing" but the sky is a bit too bright imo.
Great job and good choise of subject as always Calypso!

Default No...

No white paint was harmed in the making of these images...it was weathered marble. Later that night...
