Default the Blue Nile this morning

I suppose these could really have gone in the travel forum, but I like posting here so excuse me.

I got up early this morning and went down to the blue nile to see the fishing boats and market.

First there was sunrise

Then there were the morning activities

And finally there was some sailing to be done.

More pics are here

I'm pretty pleased with this set - but I'll keep adding as I go. I'm hoping to get out on a boat one day. Such a pity my CP5700 can't really function in the predawn light!

Cheers
Tom

The boat picture, in particular, is really nice. I like the lighting, like the composition, like the way you caught the man on the right pulling and thus creating a visual tension.

"Then there were the morning activities"

That one I like the best. One doesn't see that scene everyday. It is like a picture from the past that has occurred over and over. Well done.

Very nice pictures, I especially like 2 and 3. The lighting has been captured just right. Great atmosphere.

I like your pictures Tom. Most of the people I know would buy Porsche or Ferarri, 18 bedroom house, bla, bla, if they have won millions playig lottery. I would pobably buy some nice 4WD car, bunch of memory cards and chewing gums. Then I would pack my things and go to trip around the world.

Places you and other people are visiting (or living in) fascinate me very much. I loved your Khartoum Mosques series, they are like something I always wanted to see on the east and the farthest place to the east that I visited was Istanbul (which was fabulous).

I'm really going to show my age now.

The images remind of the old Jo Stafford song, You Belong to Me.
Lines from it:
"See the pyramids along the Nile...
See the marketplace in old Algiers,....
."

Thanks for bringing back old memories - good ones. Oh yes, very nice pictures too.
Aloha
