Nice composition and colors! I would shot this with larger aperture number (F5 or more) to get her into focus as well. Still very nice though

Usually, cropping the face is not often done.

In your photo, it "works" very, very well

Great detail and clarity also.

Thanks folks! I am trying to encourage her to take more pictures with her digicam so I was showing her how nice photos can look with a sharp subject and a blurry background. I think I tried to focus on the pinecone. Maybe I should have had her hold the pinecone out to the camera so her face would have been blurred.
