This young girl was cheering for the opposition :-)at an athletics meet my son attended. She seemed so engrossed in her cheering that she never knew she was being photographed

I love this kind of photo of people! It's so much more real than what comes out of portrait studios. Not just a face, but a personality too. You did one fine job.

Yes - much better than a portrait. Such character in shots like this.

This is so much fun.
I love photographing people and the most rewarding is those shots you just posted.
Well done.

Greetings,
Frank

I never really thought much about this shot at all. I just stored it with all my sports shots on the computer. This makes me look at it through different eyes.

That right there is the single most important aspect of these forums. It's nearly impossible to see our own photos for what they really are because we drag in memories, sentiments, and little blind spots. People who don't know us look with "cold" eyes at our pictures, judging them on their photographic merits alone. When I look back on all the different things people have spotted in my own photos, both good and bad, the things I would never have seen for myself, I realize how much I've learned just be watching and listening.
