Thank you how do I know what the sync speed is on my D70? Is that something I can look up in the manual? I will be shooting with my two Bee 800 strobs

Yep it's in the manual but typically you will use 1/125 or 1/60 second. With onboard flash you can use up to 1/500 with the D70 (cool feature).

Unless you are in an especially bright environment or have the flashes turned really low ,this won't cause a problem, since the flash will overwhelm the picture and you won't get any spill (from ambient light).

You can try faster shutter speeds if you want it will become real apparent (in the preview) if it is too fast. You will actually see the shutter (as a line or bar) as it blocks the picture.
