Thanks. A number of the shots were actually taken on the same level next to or near the pianist. However, I couldn't get a clean shot of him without including members of the audience. I wandered around a bit and decided to climb above. Fortunately, the black of the piano and of the pianist set off against the white of the ground gave it a nice color contrast. The lighting was a mixture of halogen and daylight from the dome above, which came off with a rather cool tone. However, what I couldn't convey through this portrait is how talented a musician this pianist really is -- really one of the best I've heard in awhile. He played a variety from Gershwin to Tchaikovsky, pop (10,000 maniacs and Police) to Jazz (Ellington).

I don't know if it's because you didn't attach the image directly vs. attaching as a link as you did, but this picture deserves more of a response. This is a great shot!!! Maybe it'sjust become too difficult to competein this particular forum with the likes of Kalypso and Frank. Once again, great job!

I didn't mean it that way. Yours and Frank's work is great and I think you guys do a great job in teaching others here. I personally have learned and been inspired by both. I have to admit I come here sometimes expecting to see your work or Franks work and it's possible to overlook some of the other good work, such as this particular photo.
