The human form clothed, and unclothed is a beautiful sight that we shouldn't fear. When we make tabooour natural form we create a "dirty thing" to skulk around, andsneek peeks at, or hide.We all have bodies, and skin, and appendages unique to uswhether it be a weathered and wrinkled face, or a smooth and taut breast.Censoring our natural form has created a world where we feel inadequate, inhibited, restricted, and forbid what we were all born with.

I think this forum is meant to teach, not titilate. If Kalypso shows his artistic interpretations I'm sure it is a giving act of his knowledge, not of limitations.

Kaylpso is the best. He has brought us great professional tips and above all Jess! This is far from being "porn". I say keep it coming.

Early in the morning on Jan 1...I thought I'd take a quick peek at the site before I turned in. I was one of the first to see this and comment on it. I knew I wasn't gonna be the last! In anticipation of a debate, I have been watching this topic roll along. I doubt there's ever going to be universal agreement about nudity, or when or if it can be called porn. Luckily for all of us, we are all able to exercise control if we want to, to keep ourselves or our kids away from anything on this site, if we want to. We have the choice. To deny others a choice or to subject others to abide by your choice is not fair. We are members of a photography site. Countless works of art are revered as masterpieces in spite of the nudity depicted. The human form is admired around the world, clothed or unclothed. Speaking for myself, I've never photographed a nude woman, but I confess...I do admirephotographs of them! My hat is off to Kalypso (and others) who share this aspect of photography with us. Presented thus, I do see it as tasteful, and an art. A factual representation of how this species looks in nature...we don't drape fabric over horses or dolphins or other graceful creatures. We admire them as beautiful creations they way they appear naturally. Why consider humans any differently? Some of'em are just as nice to look at...Best regards,

KennethD

I think its fine art and there's nothing rude with it.I really like photo #2. I will post "nude" photos when I know how to compose those kinds of shots artistically. hmmm.. when I do, I'll probably include "Parental Supervision" or "Parental Guidance" on the sub-title.

Would that be enough to some parents?

what I want to know isWHAT is classed as porn. If I posted a photo of a mature male with his penis showing, would that be porn? I could not care less about the shot above being on here, If my child saw it, I would just explain that its just a womans body, nothing special in anyway at all. What does interest me is where does one draw the line and whatIS andIS NOTclassed as erotic or porn, and where do photos of naked children fit into the whole thing. It is a tricky subject.

Also, my opinion of the first shot is that it is not very flattering to the model, the lighting maybe, cant put my finger on what it is about it but it does not look anywhere near as good as the one posted later near the window, that one is very good.

Kalypso,

I've always liked your work... Everything you've posted. Except, the image that you started this thread with... It doesn't seem to have the "Kalypso" feel to it. Was it posted purely for its "nude" factor? The 2nd image however, is great and is the quality I've come to expect from you. Don't get me wrong... I really like your stuff, but the 1st image didn't look right, and I was kinda disapointed you had posted it.

It do make you wonder if the second picture was posted first would there have been as much controversy. The main problem with the first photo is not composition but everything seem to be running together. Theres no separation. and theres no imagination. The second photo has so much imagination, that you would spend more time wondering about so many different things about the photo thatyou wouldnt even notice the nudity anyway. Especially the exotic light coming in the window.

I think the second shot is very tastefully done, the first is a little in your face so to speak, but then thats only my opinion as a woman and it may not count in the scheme of things:-)Im sure all the men love them both:-)

Most kids have seem mum nude and I don't think they suffered lifelong damage.. and she's nude, nothing more.

My definition of porn is the depiction of sexual activity, arousal etc. Nudity is NOT porn.

I don'tsee any reason to do frontal photographs of naked children though. Their bodies are their own, and if youagree to be photographed nude it should be a decision you make when you are an adult.
