Oly 5060, heads cropped off and converted to BW via channel mixer, kicked up the contrast

It's a nice image, but the lack of (all of) their heads & expressions is somewhat distracting.

yes, but it DOES make the shot more interesting.
Nice shot.

I have to agree with Kalypso. I don't understand the decision to crop off the heads.

I'll stand on my own. Too much contrast, no interesting detail, shadows black.

I assume the "subject" is their feet?

Amen brother! I think it's creative and makes you focus on something other than the people. I could go on being very deep and all that.................but I don't feel like it right now.
All right.....the title is Waiting for Gas.....standing around....feet...standing...gas tanks....but that is just the obvious, not the deep stuff.

I stand with my original comment!

I'm with the folks who like this picture. I'm drawn to the "other-ness" of the scene. This is a much different world from the one I've experienced. To me, the lack of heads/faces is one ofthe defining aspects of the shot. It removes the character from the scene, replacing it with an anonymous sense of humanity.I agree with lucky... check out Ed's website. It is filled with a depth of humanity that many of us will never glimpse.
