Using a Fender strap with an SG by Gibson guitar..... isn't that a sin?:blah: I like these shots, they show movement, which normally isn't desired but I happen to like it when taking a photo of something like someone playing guitar.

Hahaha, Thanks for noticing the fender strap. I actually never even noticed that Hand-held shots in the crap light in our jam space, but 2 or 3 came out nice.

Yeah, the light issue can kind of be a pain, but again, in this type of shot I like it as it shows the person is actually playing and not just posing with the instrument. Can you tell I'm a player too?:-)

I took some photos at a Keith Urban concert last summer and my favorites from those were the ones where his hands were blurred because of his playing.... it's just a cool effect in some situations. I like both these shots of yours for that reason.

Adam is a great trem picker, a lot faster than me

I have the K/M Maxxum 7D, so slow shutter speeds are still my friends. The first one is 1/6 of second at 42mm (equivalent). The second is 1/10. Both f3.5

You should post your shots, I'd love to see how other people do shots of musicians.

I´m also a guitarist ) and also have several pics of myself with a guitar. On the first picture there you can see the movent of the fingers and that´s a cool effect. What I miss on this picture is the face of the guitarist because the feelings of the musician can be best seenbest on his/her face.
