I was at the local high school football game, and grabbed this shot at halftime. It was shot with a Pentax *ist DS, with a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens. This is my black-and-white 'accent picture' of it. If you'd like, I can post the original.

Here's the details about the shot:
200mm (I was just shooting from the bench)
1/180 with Flash
f3.5
ISO 1600 (which didnt have as much noise as I thought)

Please let me know what you think!

Absolute best picture in the world! It's about time we flutists/piccoloists get the attention we deserve!!

Actually, I realy do like the way she stands out with the rest of the band in b & w. I've noticed other flutists in the picture around her. What would it look like if you colourized just the flute section?

Great shot no matter what effect you give it....very clear and crisp and a great angle. Word of advice, when shooting a marching band, do it when they are standing still or with a zoom lense. They will plow right over you and not even notice!

Nice selective color shot.
Like the angle you shot this, the lines in the picture are nice and strong.
