I quite like this shot although it's not quite as sharp as I would like. Any ideas on how to improve the image would be great.

the subject and the pose is great,

howeverI feel the background very distracting. Some blurring or changing the position would help.

Well this is my first post on this forum, but I couldn't hold this question in... Is that a contact juggler????? I contact juggle, and I'm gradually building a bigger collection of photos of me and my friends juggling, but I really wish I could give you good advice. This may be basic to you, but I would definitely do some sort of sharpening in photoshop or something and possibly even toss the image into a noise reducer like Neat Image or something. I'm gonna guess that since the photo was taken at night, it was at a higher ISO? Removing the noise may at least make the image look smoother, but it might remove some sharpness, I guess just play with it a bit. Hopefully something I've said is useful, I'm actually quite new at serious digital photography, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt I guess. Good luck and nice photo.

Thanks guys.

Yes Zaphin this was a contact/agency juggler and was pretty good, with great character. It was taken at my wife's work place Summer Ball, and he was hired as one of the enertainers. Wasn't really the place to play photographer so feel I lost out on getting a better shot. I have considered contacting him to see if he'd pose for some more.

Thanks Frank, your words mean a lot. Maybe I will try and retake this sometime or use the idea somewhere.

Below isthe same picin response to my post in the extreme makeover forum in which CreedUK responded and redited the pic. I think it looks so much better for it.

Regards

Great shot and I love the reflection. I think blurring the background would look better than b&w.

This is pretty cool. I like the reflection too.

Here is my try at an edit. Hope you don't mind. I made a duplicate layer and applied gausion blur. Then erased the front layer of the juggler.
