See what's happening here? (I am related to inspector clew...zoh) The girl has spotted the unsuspecting fellow, caught him off guard, and until you came along she was ready to pounce! Nice post, (excuse my humor if I can get away with calling it that)

It certainly is a beauriful place to relax and for meditation etc. It does get very busy though during the summer. Loads of tourists and sight seers. It has the usual museum, ice cream stalls, tea shops, souvineer shops, haunted pub, etc. that is usually associated with such places. However, unlike Stongehenge it is not policed, controlled or cordoned off. Just an open site lightly fenced, with sheep roaming around everywhere. It really is great for photography, lots of ancient standing stones, evocative landscapes, and people (lots of them). If the visitors are not taking photographs, they are usually being photographed by those who are. Cameras and photographers seem to be very accepted and even expected there. An ideal opportunity for lots of candid pics. Within sight from Avebury's stone circle is Silbury Hill which is also quite awe inspiring.

Here's another. Looks idylic, but actually my daughter was having a bit of a mood when I took this.
