You are correct. Now that you mention it the first picture does have too much blue. I will add some red and see if this helps.

Any suggestions on how to control hot spots? I use a sekonic light meter and adjust lights using meter, histograms and finally my eye for personal preference. But, still I get hot spots on sections where models face or bodyis closest to the lights.

I am thinking of replacing shoot through umbrella with softbox and placing a warming gel between strobe and model. Will this be better?

Yes, I do post some on the Critiques and Techniques forum. But I mostly like to appreciate other folks photos. That way I learn a lot then I go and practice. My current post is on a baby Jansi trying to learn shooting people photos.
