I've been admiring the work of Frank, Rodney, Kalypso and many others for a while and I finally bought my wifea couple of monolights for Christmas and these are our first attempts at lighting. I know I have a lot to learn but I felt good aboutthese andthought I'd share.

Yes, the light is really changing the photos.

The secont photo I think is with lack of contrast...should you consider trysome variations in PSD might be worth of try. Also the crop was a little to upat the bottom of the photo.

What are monolights, have you got any photo of them, really interest to bought somethingfor me.

Thanks and Regards Zak

Frank, thanks for the comments. My wife and I have been looking at your site trying to get some ideas. We also enjoy watching your videos, it gives us a lot of insight on how to start.

Zak,

First off, thanks for the comments. Secondly, a monolight is basically a strobe and power pack all in one. The ones I have (most are the same) have a built in slave that will cause them to fire off once your flash goes off. There is also a PC cable if your camera has a PC terminal. I bought some relatively inexpensive ones just to get started. This link are the ones we have.

Just do a lot of research before you decide.
