pics 1 and 2, the girl looks like she's straining so hard to keep still. but i like pic #3, she's more relaxed.

Those are just kids...hard to keep them prepared for shootng....and missing smile is obvious....

Hello Zak! I am not a expert on portrait photography, but I know when I see something special and I think #3 is special! I think you have done a excellent job on this photo in all respects.

Thanks I also like #3 photo with my dissappintment as the whole session did not came good as I wanted. Like I told, first session with new camera and I was unprepared so....mistakes.....

but what I really do not understand is that with black background in aprert/priority mode my camera (canon eos350d) set shutter speed at 2'' or even 4''????????....

...then finally with lot of trying I went to all in M (manuall) and obtain 1/4 shutter speed what was big differance but toooooo far from 1/60 for example what would be great shutter speed for me.....??????????????

Great pictures, the only suggestion is to use a little bit of powder to kill the shine on faces, it doesn't matter they are kids.
