Very nice. #2 has a timeless quality that I like. Also like the B&W.

Wonderful photos. You have captured the moment in a natural style. Good use of lighting and it is nicely cropped. Love #2 & #3. Nice portrait photos. I bet they are ones that you're proud of.

wow!! that is amazing! well done!

how do you get the picture to show such a silky smooth and soft skin like that with all that glowing lightaround the person?

I been trying some portrait photography but mine tend to show, in very good detail I might add, all the intricacies of the skin such as pimples and all. I'm so embarrassed when it comes to portrait photography

Thanks everyone for your kind words! and to Ken and Paula for opening my eyes to some tricks recently that have helped me improve!

wisely foolish - the glow behindKatie was a $5 can spotlight from Lowe's, equidistantbtw chair & backdrop (#1 & #2); #3 was window light only

gaussian blur in photoshop for smoothingskin - either Quick Mask skin leaving out eyes, lips and apply blur to smooth skin only - or - duplicate background layer, apply blur and set blending mode to multiply to add an allover diffusion effect

in shot 2 i also used the diffuse glow filter.

these are just the tricks I have learned to use only recently...the real experts can elaborate for you!
