@Tazzie,
White cards should not be used with DSLR's only graycards.

DSLRS operate with values for the grayscale 0,0,0 to 255,255,255

The correction is done by equaling the values.

For example if it reads 230,235,229 it will correct it to 235,235,235

When using a white card its not uncommon (read almost always) that ONE channel (often Red) is blown for example it reads 265,250,245 the programm however sees this as 255,250,245 meaning you will have a red infection of +10 over the total grayscale.

With analogue this problem was much less but also there the use of a good graycard was better, don't use the Kodak because that one is designed for exposure not neutral gray, buy the dynatech cards or whitebal and Qpack.
