OK, this was an available light shot - not studio. So, while I wish I could have moved the light a bit - it wasn't really an option. Still, I like the results - what do you think?

Lovely shot, a little bit too small to really see but what I see here it's very nice.
The closeness between the baby and mother are very nicely shown.

Greetings,
Frank

this is a nice shot, great capture of the mood. I like he lighting also

A shame about the posterization, most probably caused from jpeg compression for this website

nice work

Light interplay on the subject(s)contributes greatly to the affective pose. A great B&W type which is hard to forget. Congrats!

Thanks Ken and Bahadir. I'm starting to see why so many people are fascinated with available light photography and fast primes rather than flash. Both have their places IMO and for someone who primarily shoots sports, it's nice to try something completely different once in a while. Gotta give the other side of my brain a workout now and then :-)

Beautiful Capture John! great detail and shadows. Did you convert the original color imageto grayscale or use the channel mixer?
