Shot today during a workshop, so little time to shoot myself, but mainly to test a new approach for skin work.

Great ones. I have been trying for a while to get the same effects however with white background. I have a white background and set of lightings. I want to make my subject lit in some areas only. how can I achieve that?

Frank, your work always fascinates me. I am just someone who takes pictures mostly of my hunting and fishing trips but would like to take some portraits of my daughter and grandchildren. How did you arrange the lighting on shots 2, 3, & 5? Can you turn down the light intensity or light output so that you bathe the model with a soft light? Are you only using one light in a dark room with a black background? ? How far away from the model is the light? I hope to set up some black background in my basement and buy 1-2 inexpensive lights to see what affects I can get.I can't afford the professional lights as my photography is strickly a hobby, and I have a boat and Corvette to support.

Hi,
Very simple one flash from the ceiling and setting the aperture for that light.
